The Royal Scientific Society (RSS) represented by the Cleaner Production Unit hosted the 5th Arab Cleaner Production Workshop which took place during the period 25th - 27th of September, 2011 in Amman, Jordan.
 

Jordanian participants as well as other participants from different countries such as Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, France, Austria, Switzerland and Turkey have attended this workshop. There were also some guest speakers from UNIDO and Switzerland.

The main themes of the workshop included:

• CP in Industries

• CP in Healthcare Facilities

• CP in Hotels (Sustainable Tourism)

• Hazardous Materials Management

• Solid Waste Management

• Life Cycle Assessment

• Risk Assessment

• Climate Change

The overall objective of the workshop was to present and explore ideas and needs on how improving resources management via CP and other tools and eventually to aid in setting proper environmental policies.

This workshop was support by United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
